What are gastric polyps:

They are  are abnormal growths on the inner lining of the stomach. Some are harmless & some can become cancerous.

Symptoms:

  • Pain or tenderness when you press the abdomen.
  • Nausea.
  • Blood in the stool & Anemia.

Types:

1. Small polyps:

Small polyps that aren’t adenomas: These polyps might not require treatment. They typically don’t cause signs and symptoms and only rarely become cancerous. Your doctors might recommend periodic monitoring so if polyps grow or started to cause signs and symptoms, they remove it. 

2. Large polyps:

These polyps might need to be removed by endoscopy.

Adenomas: These polyps can become cancerous and are usually removed during endoscopy. Polyps associated with familial adenomatous polyposis: These polyps are removed because they can become cancerous.

Patient must apply all instructions provided by the specialists before the endoscopy & arrange for a company.
