Management of bronchial asthma
• Fiber Optic Bronchoscope is a diagnostic or curative procedure:
o Diagnostic:
Lung cancer.
Lung specimen.
Trachea & bronchial tree washing.
Bronchial specimen to identify specific microbes.
o Therapeutic:
Excision of endobronchial session.
Extraction of foreign body.
Control of hemoptysis.
Suction of bronchial tree secretions.
• Spirometry : is available for the following :
o Chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.
o Bronchial asthma o Assessment of the respiratory system of who exposed to community pollutions & follow up of their cases.
o Reemployment assessment of respiratory functions.
o Pre surgery in cases with chronic up diene.
