ABDOMINOPLASTY
* It is a major surgical procedure that can be life-changing. Patients should be in good health, close to their ideal body weight and have realistic expectations for the surgery.
Traditional Tummy Tuck :
* This is the most common type of tummy tuck performed by our surgeons.
* It is performed under general anesthesia, involves the largest incisions that run from hip to hip and include a wrap around the belly button and produces the most dramatic results.
* It allows patients to remove unwanted fat and excess skin from the entire abdomen. It also gives them the opportunity to tighten and firm the underlying muscles.
* It is ideal for patients who need to address a significant amount of excess volume in the upper and lower abdomen.
* Eligible candidates for body contouring surgery are men and women who have loose abdominal skin and muscle due to significant weight loss or pregnancy.
* Patients should plan to stay home from work for two weeks to allow patients to recover and make sure that there is some company available to provide physical and emotional support until they are better able to care for themselves.
Mini tummy tuck:
* This is a lighter, shorter, and less invasive variation of the traditional tummy tuck.
* It is ideal for patients with a very small amount of excess, sagging skin.
* Performed under intravenous sedation and local anesthesia, the surgery involves a small incision just above the pubic area. Once healed, the scar will be minimal and easily hidden by clothing, a swimsuit, or underwear.
* Patients have a less extensive recovery period. Most patients can resume light daily activities within two days, with a full return to work after ten days. However, they should continue to avoid strenuous exercise for at least four weeks to ensure optimal healing
