Ganzouri Specialized Hospital Takes Prime Role in The WHO Workshop on PPP

10 Aug - 2015 | Cairo - A capacity-building workshop on the role of the private sector in moving towards universal health coverage in the Region is being held from 9 to 12 August in the Regional Office. Senior level staff responsible for service provision, health care financing and health policy and planning from Afghanistan, Egypt, Islamic Republic of Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Sudan and Tunisia are attending the workshop, in addition to representatives of syndicates of private health care providers, qualified experts and representatives from health insurance organizations and members of academia.
The training workshop will build on existing approaches and strategies for private health sector engagement in moving towards universal health coverage. The objectives of the workshop are to:

1. identify the role of the private sector in moving toward universal health coverage
2. learn how to use the assessment tool adapted for the Region
3. provide step-by-step guidance for regulating health care provision in the private and public sectors
4. illustrate different forms of public-private partnership and identify prerequisites and requirements for their successful implementation.
