Enhancing patients’ care through customer oriented cultural awareness
A stay in a hospital can be a daunting prospect for some people and an experience that can be made more challenging if the hospital staff is not sufficiently sensitive to the cultural needs of the patient and his/her family. In a cosmopolitan region like the Middle East, the need to be aware of the differences between the many cultures that share the region is especially important.
This is why Ganzouri Specialized Hospital has started a program of customer oriented cultural training for staff and is now including this aspect of patient and customer care in its induction programs for all new members of staff to focus on how to be patient-centered.
